Configuring Outlook Express

To add an account to Microsoft Outlook Express:

Step One

From Outlook Express, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts..."

 

Step Two

A box will appear with multiple tabs. The "Mail" tab will show your currently configured email accounts. To add a new account, select "Add" and "Mail...".

 

Step Three

Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your message. Click "Next".

 

Step Four

Enter your your full email address. Click "Next".

 

Step Five

For your email server settings, make sure "POP3" is selected in the drop down box. For incoming and outgoing email servers, enter "mail.mtnisp.com".

 

Step Six

Enter your account name in the first box. Your account name is your email address without the @mtnisp.com part. For instance, if your email address is "jsmith@mtnisp.com" you would enter "jsmith" as your account name. 

Enter your password in the second box. You may check to have it remember your password if you do not want to enter it every time. 

You do not need to check the "Log on Using Secure Password Authentication" box.

 

Step Seven

Click "Finish". Your have completed setting up your email account on Outlook Express.
